When broken down and vulnerable, we must reach inside and pull from an inner strength not often seen. My new artwork emerges from vulnerability that we all find ourselves dealing with at some point. My original intention was to continue working with the image of the bird. Instead, the ultimate result found me drawing the female body.

These images mirror the distress that can be felt in vulnerable moments. The work appears falsely simplistic, but the organic nature of our bodies and the capability of watercolor weave this vulnerability in sharp contrast with the flat bold color of latex, speaking to the human nature of healing.
