The birds in my work often represent the balance of the natural world brought into the geometry of a man-made existence—which is the order we as humans try to maintain. The silhouettes here preserve my original balance between the natural and man-made, while removing the specifics. Over the years of painting birds, my fascination with the folklore surrounding crows, as well as their cavalier presence, has grown. Now the balance also hinges on the insolent and the delicate.
